The Hunger Games has been a huge hit and taken Hollywood by storm. I am so excited about this! I can't remember when exactly I read the first book, I want to say early 2009. I fell in love with it. I finally read the other two books in early 2011 and was more than ready for the movie to come out in March of this year :) My husband and I saw it and it was everything I wanted and more!
When I saw this recipe on Pint-Sized Baker, I was all over it. I've had an awful time lately with homemade bread recipes, so I was ready to take a shot at a new one. It was a great recipe. I doubled it (below is the single recipe) and froze half of it.
(Print)
What you need:
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp. sugar
- 1 envelope yeast
- 1 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3 tbsp. butter, cut up
- 1 egg
- 3/4 cup warm water
Stir together dry ingredients.
Add butter and egg.
Add warm water until dough forms.
Knead for 1 minutes.
Let dough rest for 10 to 15 minutes on a floured surface.
Roll dough into 12x7" tube and tightly roll up. Pinch side seams over to seal them.
Grease a bread pan and place dough seam side down.
Cover and let rise for 30 to 45 minutes, or until doubled. You can do this in the oven too!
Bake at 375* for 30 minutes.
Let cool on a wire rack.
Slice and use as you wish (like in a grilled cheese sandwich!).
